For many of the women who come to Lydia’s House of Hope, motherhood has never looked the way it was meant to.
Many were once the children caught in the generational cycle of poverty, homelessness, and abuse.
They were the ones who cried and no one answered.
The ones who learned that hunger was normal… that love was temporary… that abandonment was expected.
They grew up believing there was no safety—no stability—no lasting love.
And then, years later, they walk through our doors.
They arrive carrying layers of trauma—hidden beneath addiction, abuse, and survival. Many have never known independence. Others have lost it along the way. They come to us at the end of themselves, searching for something they’ve never truly had: safety, structure, and unconditional love.
But there is hope!!!

Lydia’s House of Hope, a 365-day faith based transitional housing program for homeless women and children find more than shelter.
Through structured programming, mentorship, and faith-based support, they begin to heal. They learn life skills, rebuild their confidence, and rediscover their identity and purpose.
They move from survival… to stability… to independence.
And for many, something even more powerful happens—they begin to redefine what motherhood looks like.
They become the mothers they never had.
They begin to break the cycle for their children.
They start building a future marked not by trauma—but by hope.
