Coos Coalition for Young Children and Families

A nonprofit organization

In Coös County, caring for a young child can mean carrying a lot at once. A parent may be worried about their child’s development, struggling to find behavioral health support, navigating long distances to services, or simply trying to figure out where to turn next. In a rural region where resources can be hard to reach and systems do not always connect smoothly, families can feel overwhelmed and alone.

The Coös Coalition for Young Children and Families exists so families do not have to navigate those challenges on their own. We bring together schools, early childhood programs, health providers, family support organizations, and community leaders to build something every child deserves: a stronger, more connected system of care from birth through age eight. Our mission is to promote optimal development for young children and support the families and systems that care for them.

This work is deeply local and deeply human. It looks like helping communities strengthen non-clinical behavioral health supports for young children and caregivers. It looks like expanding shared developmental screening tools to identify concerns earlier. It looks like supporting smoother transitions into kindergarten, strengthening family leadership, and helping partners work together so families experience support with less confusion and greater trust.

What makes CCYCF different is that we are not just addressing one need at a time. We are helping an entire region work better for children and families. We convene partners, align efforts, strengthen communication, and invest in the systems and relationships that make lasting change possible. That kind of behind-the-scenes work is easy to overlook, but it is often what makes the biggest difference in whether families get help early, feel supported, and have a real chance to thrive.

When you give to CCYCF, you are investing in more than a single program. You are investing in a future where families in the North Country feel seen, supported, and connected. You are helping build a region where children can grow up with stronger foundations, caregivers can find help sooner, and communities can come together around what matters most. Your donation helps turn coordination into action, partnership into possibility, and hope into real support for local families.
