Animal Welfare Alliance Resource & Education (AWARE NH) is a nonprofit organization based in Hooksett, New Hampshire, created with one very important mission: keeping pets healthy, in loving homes, and out of overcrowded shelters.

AWARE NH was founded because there was a major gap in New Hampshire for affordable, accessible veterinary care and support services focused specifically on helping pets stay with the families who love them. There truly was no organization like this in New Hampshire when AWARE NH was created.

In January 2027, AWARE NH will take the next step in expanding access to affordable veterinary care by opening an Affordable Urgent Care & Humane Euthanasia Center in Manchester, NH. This new nonprofit facility will be open to all and will provide affordable urgent veterinary care and affordable and compassionate end-of-life services for pets and the families who love them.

The new Manchester center will complement—not replace—our existing Hooksett facility. Our Hooksett location will continue operating as AWARE NH's nonprofit spay and neuter surgical suite, where we provide free and low-cost spay and neuter services to pets across New Hampshire.

All funds raised through NH Gives will help prepare the Manchester facility for opening. Renovations, construction, walls, cabinetry, medical equipment, furnishings, and supplies are all needed to transform the space into a fully functioning veterinary center that will serve pets and families for years to come.

At our Hooksett surgical suite, we currently operate four spay and neuter clinics each week, providing high-quality free and low-cost services to pets throughout the state. Our services are open to all, allowing us to make a meaningful impact on pet overpopulation while improving the health and wellbeing of local pets.

Our goal is clear: zero growth in the local pet population.

Every clinic helps prevent unwanted litters, improves long-term health, and reduces the number of animals entering already overcrowded shelters. But beyond population control, our work is about something even bigger — keeping pets in the loving homes they already have whenever possible.

In addition to our surgical services, AWARE NH offers:

• Monthly low-cost vaccine and microchip clinics with some of the most affordable pricing in the state
• A free pet food pantry to support families in need
• Access to veterinary resources and assistance programs
• Community education focused on responsible pet ownership

We believe helping people is one of the most important ways to help animals. By removing financial barriers and making veterinary care accessible, we are helping families keep the pets they love while building a stronger, more compassionate community for both people and animals.

Together, our Hooksett nonprofit spay and neuter surgical suite and our new Manchester Affordable Urgent Care & Humane Euthanasia Center will allow AWARE NH to help even more pets and families access affordable veterinary care when they need it most. 🐾💙
