ElderPet embraces the Human-Pet Bond for All. It does this with two important but separate endeavors:  Pet-Related Community Services and the Pet Partners® Therapy Animal Program.

Our community services focus on pet owners who are low income senior citizens and people with disabilities.  Our service area encompasses Strafford and seacoast Rockingham counties. Your donations through NH Gives will be used to support this branch. Services we provide are:

  • Delivery of pet food to low income seniors and people with disabilities.
  • Providing the cost of medications and prescription diets for low income pet owners whose animals have chronic medical conditions.
  • Providing financial support for unexpected veterinary care with grants on a case by case basis upon receiving a request that cannot be covered by other sources.
  • Providing advice and counseling to caregivers, social workers, and owners related to pet care in unexpected situations.

ElderPet is a Community Partner of Pet Partners® and organizes and hosts classes and evaluations to register therapy animal teams. These teams then go out and serve by visiting hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, schools, libraries, universities, and many more locations throughout the area. Funding is not needed for this endeavor, but it is an integral part of what ElderPet does in the community.
