Hi Friends,

It's been about a month since I started my next chapter as the Senior Director of Operations and Experience at the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH.  I am happy to report that it is everything I expected and more.

The staff is great and the location is spectacular, but what really makes me smile is just about everyday I get to see a fish nerd in the making.

I can always pick them out of the crowd. They linger at every tank, watch the exhibit videos clear through and are the last to leave the tide pools. They find the sharks just as fascinating as the pollock, flounder, and mummichog. They thumb through the field guides in the gift shop, soaking in all the knowledge they can.

These kids remind me of my youth - just a kid slogging through Indiana creeks and ponds learning how life works. My waters were smaller and fresher, but they were linked to the same fishy universe as New Hampshire's coast. Both places depend on clean water, aquatic diversity, and a community of people willing to protect the waters for future generations.

The Seacoast Science Center does great work, but that costs money. It is a nonprofit that makes the most of every dollar. This year we are participating in NH Gives - a one day, statewide fundraising initiative. Please take a moment and make a donation that will support our future environmental champions.

Cheers, Dave
