Thank you all.
I love you.
Hello.
If you’ve been to UpReach, you probably already know me. I’m Floof — the exceptionally handsome and charming gentleman who supervises the barn from the tack room, the aisleway, the doorway, and occasionally directly in front of your feet when you’re trying to walk somewhere important.
You’ve likely given me treats before (thank you).
If you haven’t given me treats before, I do enjoy them very much (also thank you).
A few weeks ago, we said goodbye to two very dear friends of mine — Quinn and Peppy.
Now, I’ve learned quite a lot while living at — and, in many ways, managing — this barn called UpReach. One thing I’ve learned is that this place is filled with extraordinary joy. Every day, I get to watch horses and ponies help people in ways that are honestly pretty remarkable.
I see the little humans arrive nervous and leave smiling. I hear laughter echo through the barn while children brush ponies or ride for the very first time. And then there are the big humans — including the strong, quiet ones they call “vets.” At first, I avoided them because I thought they were the kind of vets that give shots. Thankfully, I discovered they are not.
The horses help all of them.
In calm ways. In brave ways. In healing ways.
Quinn and Peppy were especially good at that work. They carried people through difficult days, helped build confidence, brought comfort, and gave so many riders moments of happiness, peace, and connection. They were gentle souls, faithful partners, and very good friends.
But life in a barn — and in a community that loves deeply — also means experiencing grief when we lose those we cherish. We felt that grief here when Quinn and Peppy crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
I thought it would be a very good idea to hold a fundraiser in their honor.
I hope you’ll consider making a donation to celebrate Quinn and Peppy, and the important work they did here at UpReach. Your support helps ensure that horses and ponies can continue changing lives for years to come.
Their noble spirits live on in every smile, every quiet moment of courage, every child’s laugh, and every life touched here at the barn.
And from all of us — humans, horses, ponies… and especially me — thank you.
With gratitude,
Floof
