Marguerite’s Place has a 30+ year history of empowering families experiencing homelessness, offering more than safe shelter. They provide the tools, community, and coaching families need to heal from trauma and break the cycle of homelessness for good.

An integral part of their holistic approach is access to high-quality childcare, ensuring that both parents and children have the support they need to thrive. Within their classrooms, they provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks each day, along with formula and baby food for their littlest learners. This not only eliminates a significant barrier for families, allowing them to direct their savings toward building long-term stability, but also ensures that children are well-nourished, engaged, and ready to learn and grow.

My connection to Marguerite’s Place is deeply personal. My father was involved from the organization’s earliest days, volunteering his time and serving on the Board of Directors. My mother has organized many student volunteers over the years and has served countless meals to families during Empowerment Nights. Sister Sharon and Sister Elaine, the founding members of Marguerite’s Place, quickly became like family to us. Through their example, and through my parents’ enduring commitment, I inherited a deep respect for the mission of Marguerite’s Place and a commitment to service that I am proud to carry forward.

Now, as a mother myself, this mission resonates with me in an even deeper way. Every parent wants their child to be safe, nourished, and given the chance to thrive. Marguerite’s Place helps make that possible for families during some of the most difficult chapters of their lives. It is a privilege to support this work today as Secretary of the Board of Directors and to help carry forward a mission rooted in dignity, compassion, and hope.
