Hi, I’m Andrew,

What is Our Place NH?  Let me tell you.  It is hope for people like me with Developmental Disabilities, to have a place I can call home.  To live in a safe and supportive environment, which NH has so little options of with waiting lists for the ones that do exist.  If you are reading this, you probably understand the situations families like mine face.  I’m 33 yrs old and know one day my parents will not be on this earth or able to help me any longer.  I wish it wasn’t that way, but that’s life.

My parents worry about my future.  I worry about my future.  Especially my safety.  What will happen to me when they can no longer watch over me, guide me, and provide for me.  Thats one of the biggest reasons I hope to have my own apartment at Our Place NH someday.

I’d really love to have a place of my own-a place I can call home.  I can’t live completely independently.  I need help getting to my Old Navy job, to pursue my passions and interests, to handle some of the day to day things.  In a safe and supportive environment.

I would also love the chance to live around people who are in the same boat as me.  We could hang out, learn from each other, help each other, and grow together.  How cool would that be?

To me, Our Place NH means more than just housing.  It means safety, friendship, feeling like I did what people do at my age.  It means having some independence while knowing support is there when I need it.  It means having a future where my family can worry a little less, and where I can feel proud to call a place, my home.  That’s what Our Place NH means to me. 

Help us get those shovels in the ground, and get this house built!!
