The Community Building Fund supports BWINH Collective's efforts to reduce isolation, strengthen connections, and create opportunities for Black people in New Hampshire and surrounding areas to find belonging, support, and community.
In a state where many Black people are geographically dispersed and often disconnected from cultural community, we believe that relationships are essential infrastructure. When people know each other, trust each other, and have opportunities to gather, resources, information, care, and opportunities spread throughout the community.
This fund supports a wide range of community-centered initiatives, including the Black Womxn in NH Social Club, Black Men in NH, Noir Nights, Soulcial Saturdays, Generations in Motion, Stay Cool, mutual aid efforts, the Call It Home Coalition, and other projects that strengthen relationships and improve quality of life for Black people in our region.
It also allows us to support emerging Black-led grassroots projects and community leaders who often face barriers to funding and resources due to racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, and other forms of systemic oppression.
Your contribution helps cover gathering spaces, food, supplies, transportation assistance, community care efforts, outreach, accessibility accommodations, leadership development, coalition building, and other resources needed to help our community thrive.
When you invest in community building, you're investing in the relationships, trust, and collective care that make all of our other work possible.
