BWINH Collective is a Black-led nonprofit organization building community, connection, and collective power among Black people in New Hampshire and surrounding areas.
We began in 2020 as the Black Womxn in New Hampshire Social Club, creating opportunities for Black women and gender expansive people to find community in a state where many of us experience isolation and disconnection from culture, community, and one another. What started as a social club has grown into a broader collective effort focused on strengthening relationships, preserving culture, advancing education, and creating pathways toward a more sustainable future for Black communities.
Our work is rooted in a simple belief: relationships are infrastructure.
When Black people know each other, trust each other, and have opportunities to gather, opportunities spread. Information spreads. Resources spread. Care spreads. Community becomes more resilient.
Through cultural celebrations, educational programs, advocacy efforts, mutual aid initiatives, and community gatherings, we create spaces where Black people can connect, learn, heal, celebrate, and organize together.
Our programs include:
• Community building initiatives such as the Black Womxn in NH Social Club, Black Men in NH, Noir Nights, Soulcial Saturdays, and Juneteenth New England
• Educational programs such as Black Womxn Lead, Reclaiming Our Truth, Healing From Whiteness, Culture Keepers, and Seeds of Solidarity
• Mutual aid and community support efforts including Auntie's Pantry and other community care initiatives
• Advocacy and coalition-building through the Call It Home Coalition and our work advancing equitable investment in Black-led organizations and communities
• Efforts to document, preserve, and share the history and stories of Black people in New Hampshire
We intentionally center those who are often pushed to the margins, including Black women and femmes, dark-skinned Black people, queer, trans, and gender expansive Black people, Black immigrants and refugees, poor and working-class Black people, Black disabled and neurodivergent people, Black youth, and Black elders.
Over the years, hundreds of Black people have participated in our programs, events, and community spaces. Together, we are creating opportunities for connection today while planting seeds for the future through cooperative economics, housing justice, food sovereignty, education, wellness, and community-owned solutions.
When you support BWINH Collective, you are helping build the relationships, knowledge, and infrastructure that allow Black communities to thrive.
