I’m proud work at the New Hampshire School Funding Fairness Project, and I’m raising funds for NHSFFP during NH Gives on June 9 and 10.

I believe in the organization because I think every child in New Hampshire should have access to an excellent public education no matter where they live. I also believe that our school funding system should be fair to students, families, taxpayers, and communities. Right now, too many New Hampshire communities are forced to rely heavily on local property taxes to fund their schools, creating real inequities for students and real pressure on taxpayers.

Since its founding in 2019, NHSFFP has become a statewide leader in public education advocacy. The organization helps people across New Hampshire understand how school funding works, how it affects students and communities, and how they can get involved in pushing for a better system. NHSFFP works with parents, school board members, local officials, school districts, advocates, business leaders, and community members in every corner of the state.

NHSFFP is helping make complicated legal and policy issues understandable and actionable. The organization connects what is happening in courtrooms and at the State House to what families, students, taxpayers, and communities are experiencing every day. It also builds the organizing infrastructure we need for the long term, including networks of school board members, local leaders, and advocates who are ready to speak up for fair funding.

NH Gives is NHSFFP’s largest individual fundraising push of the year. This year, the Board of Directors and longtime supporters are matching donations up to the first $8,000, which means your gift can go even further.
