Food is more than nourishment. It is culture, community, history, care, and survival.

The Food Sovereignty & Community Care Fund supports BWINH Collective's efforts to increase access to food, strengthen community care, and build toward community-owned food systems that place people before profit.

Across New Hampshire and surrounding areas, many Black families face barriers to accessing affordable, culturally familiar, and nutritious food. At the same time, rising costs continue to place pressure on households already stretched thin. We believe communities should have greater control over how food is grown, distributed, shared, and accessed.

This fund supports initiatives such as Auntie's Pantry, Black Food Sovereignty at Home, community food distributions, educational programming, and the development of future cooperative food structures designed to increase community ownership and self-determination.

Through these efforts, we work to ensure that community members have access to food when they need it, while also helping build the knowledge, relationships, and infrastructure necessary for long-term food sovereignty.

Your contribution helps support food purchases, storage equipment, shelving, transportation, educational materials, volunteer support, community outreach, emergency food assistance, gardening and food sovereignty initiatives, and future cooperative food projects.

By investing in food sovereignty, you are helping create a future where Black communities have greater access to healthy food, stronger systems of mutual support, and more control over the resources needed to thrive.
