I support Red River Theatres because it offers something you can't get from watching a movie at home.

I've always loved movies, not just for the entertainment they provide, but for the creativity, storytelling, and craftsmanship that go into bringing them to life. And there is something special, almost nostalgic, about sitting in a theater with a room full of people and experiencing a story together for the first time. Whether it's a collective laugh, a moment of suspense, or the silence that follows a powerful scene, those shared reactions remind us that movies are meant to connect us.

Red River celebrates all of that.

As an independent nonprofit cinema in the heart of Concord, Red River is much more than a movie theater. It creates opportunities for our community to connect through film, whether that's discovering an independent filmmaker, attending a special screening, participating in a discussion, or simply sharing a memorable movie-going experience with friends and family.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, I've had the opportunity to see firsthand the impact Red River has on our community. Every year, tens of thousands of people walk through its doors to enjoy programming that goes far beyond first-run movies. From independent and international films to educational programs, community events, and accessible screenings, Red River makes film and the arts available to everyone.

What many people don't realize is that ticket sales alone don't cover the cost of operating an independent nonprofit cinema. Community support is what allows Red River to continue bringing high-quality programming and meaningful experiences to Concord and the surrounding area.
