When I took this photo of the Warner River in October, 2022, I had no idea how much work it would take to permanently protect this property. I had started my position as the Director of Conservation at Five Rivers just six months earlier, and Dustin Woods was the first new conservation project I had managed. Let's just say I was naive! It was three major grants, 100 drafts, and over three years later in December, 2025, that we finally signed the papers. Thanks to the generosity of the Dustin family, our staff, and many dedicated volunteers, Dustin Woods and its 39 acres of woodlands, trails, and 2,800 feet of undeveloped frontage on the Warner River will always be protected from development and will always be open for the public to enjoy.
Since my start here, I've been involved in 11 completed conservation projects that have protected 1,157 acres, including over 600 acres that are open to the public.
Please join me in making a gift today to protect more places that feed, inspire and sustain us.
Thank you all!
