Five Rivers Conservation Trust

A nonprofit organization

$41,250 raised by 123 donors

The farms, forests, and waterways of the Capital Region of New Hampshire are more than scenery, they are the source of our food, our clean water, our trails, and our sense of home. Five Rivers Conservation Trust works with landowners, towns, and neighbors to protect these essential places forever. We ensure that the land that sustains us today will sustain future generations tomorrow.

We serve the communities of Belmont, Boscawen, Bow, Canterbury, Chichester, Concord, Dunbarton, Gilmanton, Hillsborough, Henniker, Hopkinton, Loudon, Northfield, Pembroke, Salisbury, Warner, and Webster. Our landscape is notable for the five waterways that converge here: the Merrimack, Contoocook, Blackwater, Warner, and Soucook Rivers.

Living local begins with the land. Our work is both practical and deeply personal—conserving not just acres, but the character, balance, and beauty of the communities we call home.

  • Trails and open spaces to hike, bike, and explore
  • Working farms that provide fresh, local food
  • Clean streams, ponds, lakes, and rivers
  • Thriving wildlife habitats
  • Land cared for today and safeguarded for future generations
