Grace: Support bike riding on the Seacoast!

I've loved bike riding from the exhilarating moment when I pedaled across the blacktop at Green Street Elementary on my sister's hand-me-down bike. Despite two less exhilarating encounters with biking and blacktops (age 11, speeding down a hill and then realizing there was a wire across the bottom of the road; age 20, braking my new Motobecane and providentially landing in the street in front of an ambulance company) -- I continue to love biking for transportation, recreation, and pedaling myself to happy places.

Being on the SABR board offers the opportunity to encourage those who are still developing biking enthusiasm and experience or who need a little drafting to get there. Last summer I helped two elementary school girls learn to ride bicycles and they are thrilled to ride around the neighborhood, enjoying their independence.
