Cousins Family FIA Fundraiser

Friends in Action (FIA)— has become such a cornerstone of Sam's life.

Because of FIA, Sam has a vibrant and joyful social life. She has made close friends whom she sees regularly through both in-person and Zoom activities. These connections extend beyond organized programs into genuine friendships outside of FIA events.

Sam rarely misses her weekly Zoom meetups—Trivia and Mad Libs on Mondays, and Booktime with Ally on Thursdays. She looks forward to seeing her friends, sharing laughs, and celebrating each other’s accomplishments.

Among FIA’s many in-person events, Sam’s favorites are Friday Night Socials and Wildcat Friends. Wildcat Friends is particularly special: Sam and her friends meet at the University of New Hampshire for a theater class, dinner in the dining hall, and other activities. She especially loves the theater class and, of course, dinner with friends!

Sam also volunteers at Echo Thrift Shop, gaining valuable community-based retail experience—and even more time with friends.

As parents, we—Maria and Dean—are endlessly grateful for the opportunities FIA has given Sam and the friendships she’s built, with peers both with and without IDD. The FIA staff is nothing short of amazing.

Friends in Action depends on corporate sponsors, grants, and the generosity of donors to continue offering these life-changing programs.
