CJ Lewis Supporting NHTP

Hello! It's NH Gives time! I'm CJ Lewis, longtime NHTP artist and current Managing Director of Applied Programs. 

As NH's only year-round, active applied theatre company (...that I know of...), we occupy a unique and vital space in the state's arts economy. We use theatre, film, and the creative arts to address social, educational, and therapeutic goals. On top of that, we like to spark difficult conversations around important topics, connect people who otherwise might not know each other, and build communities that feel welcoming and nurturing. And I think we're pretty good at it.

NH Theatre Project is a singular arts organization that serves the entire state: From our impactful community outreach programs like our award-winning Elephant-in-the-Room Series®; to our dynamic and interactive Theatre For Life professional development workshops; and or our thoughtful, top-flight Mainstage productions.

Over the last year, our touring and in-house programs have benefitted municipal leaders, corporate teams, non-profit orgs, school leaders and educators, healthcare professionals, and audiences and community members alike. We hope you'll help us keep our wide reach.

This year is as crucial as ever for our 30+ year old company. The shifting economics of our home region are making it challenging to retain our physical space, especially in the face of deeply impactful cuts to federal and state level arts funding programs. We've always considered ourselves a unique community resource within the state and, at this time, we to turn to you - the community - to help us continue providing access to these programs, from Berlin to Keene to the Seacoast and everywhere in between, for years to come.
