What is applied theatre? It’s “theatre that matters.”
Applied theatre is the use of theatrical practices and creativity that moves beyond the traditional scope of conventional theatre forms. Applied theatre works to enact social change and make the world a better place through theatrical explorations of issues ranging from the communal to the personal. EMPATHY
I learned a lot from the different perspectives offered by those in attendance.
Such an eye-opener into the lives of first responders.
Thank you for providing a safe space to be myself and share my story. Better than therapy!
SELF-CONFIDENCE & LEADERSHIP
My TED talk was GREAT. I was able to center, ground myself, and once on stage I had fun and felt powerful.
Your guidance and expertise have significantly boosted my confidence and skills, preparing me to excel in my role at upcoming conferences.
I feel like anyone in business or the personal growth world needs to work with you.
INSPIRATION
A very rich and transportive evening... still thinking about the people, history, and ideas the play brought to life.
This play will have you resist one figure, then the other, then both and, above all, it will make you question. An intense, challenging play done beautifully.
NHTP's Elephant-in-the-Room Series® addresses critical issues in a creative and impactful way. Their thoughtful approach fosters community awareness by combining powerful storytelling with facilitated discussions led by subject matter experts, encouraging informed dialogue around difficult topics.
COMMUNITY-BUILDING
We typically have a quiet group, but the actors were able to foster engagement and participation that felt totally natural.
All we had hoped for and more - loosening up, having some fun, building stronger connections with each other and as a team, sharpening our creative confidence, thinking about innovation, creativity and leadership. We've been smiling and looking each other in the eyes more and more, being open to the gift!
Thanks to you all for your work to make New Hampshire and northern New England a more inclusive and caring place for all!
INNOVATION & SOCIAL CHANGE
NHTP and Safe Harbor Discovery Center are creating a unique training model that enhances client outcomes, reduces barriers to social determinants of health needs, and increases peer staff retention in the recovery field.
Judging from my own personal experience involved with a number of different healthcare/eldercare situations, the Navigating Eldercare play is spot on!!! (It works) to jump start an incredibly important conversation and, more importantly, provides a spark to explore feasible solutions.
NHTP provides a very powerful and unique way to raise awareness about critical issues and to link people to important local resources... More youth are experiencing mental health emergencies and suicide rates are rising. This play could save lives.
